All 3 and 4-year-olds are eligible for free funded childcare, which they can access the term after their third birthday. Your child may also be eligible for funded childcare if they are 2, which they can access the term after their second birthday.
A child born between 1st April and 31st August can access childcare from 1st September.
A child born between 1st September and 31st December can access childcare from 1st January.
A child born between 1st January and 31st March can access childcare from 1st April.
You can claim 15 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year. Please note, the funded weeks do not always coincide with school terms. A message will be sent to parents via our Early Years Software before each block of funding.
To claim funding at Daisy Fays you will be required to complete and return a parent declaration form, along with funding code (if applicable) and proof of your child’s date of birth (passport or birth certificate).
If you have any further questions regarding funding please email email@example.com.
2 Year funding
If you are claiming a support benefit, if your child has a statement of Special Education Needs, an Education Health Care Plan, claims Disability Living Allowance, is looked after by the Local Authority, or is a child in care, you may be eligible for 2 Year Funding. You will need to log in to the Citizen Portal on the link below to apply. If eligible you must provide the funded code on the parent declaration.
30 Hour Funding Extended Entitlement
Most working families will be eligible for an additional 15 hours of funding for their 3 or 4-year-old each week. To see your eligibility and apply, please use the following link: https://www.gov.uk/apply-30-hours-free-tax-free-childcare. If eligible you will receive a funding code. This will need to be provided on the parent declaration form. You must then sign into your account every 3 months to update your details and check your eligibility. An email will be sent to you from the government to remind you. You will need to confirm you are still eligible. You will then be sent a new email to confirm you are entitled to funding which will automatically updates our Portal. Failure to do the above will jeopardise receiving the additional 15 hours.
Using Your Funding
There are a few ways you can use funding. Funded hours can be only used in line with Daisy Fays sessions.
A full day will use 10 hours of funding (0800-1800).
A half day (0800-1300/1300-1800) will use 5 hours of funding.
A preschool session (0900-1500) will use 6 hours of funding.
There is an additional charge for breakfast club (0730-0800).
Lunches are charged at £3.50. Lunch is not available for afternoon sessions.
You can use your 15 or 30 hours for the funded weeks, then either attend term-time only, or pay for sessions during the non-funded periods. Any additional sessions on top of funding will be invoiced accordingly.
You can also use part of your funded hours each week, banking the rest to use in the non-funded periods, for example use 10 and bank 5.
